2016 Sydney Campus International Student Bursaries

The Sydney Business School, University of Wollongong is pleased to announce the 2016 Sydney CBD Campus International Student Bursary program.

The bursary will apply to a number of courses offered at Sydney Business School, University of Wollongong’s Sydney campus at Circular Quay.

The bursaries apply to all intakes in 2016, for students commencing their first session of study with the University of Wollongong (UOW) at Sydney CBD campus in 2016.

There is no limit on the number of bursaries, and all applicants who meet our entry requirements and gain entry into an eligible course will qualify.

Value of Bursary

The bursary is awarded in the form of a full tuition fee waiver of the final 2 subjects in the 12-subject Master degree, or the final 3 subjects in the 16-subject Master degree. This is equivalent to a 16–18% reduction of the tuition fee on the full duration of the course.

The bursary applies to the following 12 subject Masters courses:

  • Master of Applied Finance
  • Master of Business (single specialisation)
  • Master of Business Administration
  • Master of Science (Supply Chain Management) (single specialisation)
  • Master of Science (Project Management) (single specialisation)

Students completing an 8-subject Master of Business, Master of Science or Master of Applied Finance on the basis of prior completion of undergraduate studies in Business or a related discipline are not eligible for the bursary.

The bursary applies to the following 16 subject Masters courses:

  • Master of Applied Finance - Investing and Corporate Treasury
  • Master of Business (double specialisation)
  • Master of Business Administration Advanced (16 subjects)
  • Master of Science (Supply Chain Management & Project Management) (double specialisation)

Students completing an 12-subject Master of Business (double specialisation), Master of Science (double specialisation) or Master of Applied Finance - Investing and Corporate Treasury on the basis of prior completion of undergraduate studies in Business or a related discipline are eligible for a full tuition fee waiver for the final two subjects only.

The bursary will not be awarded to students commencing one of the above eligible courses with credit for prior learning of postgraduate studies from any other institutions or UOW campus.

Students who commence the Graduate Certificate in Business or Graduate Certificate in Applied Finance in 2016 with a package offer with one of the above degrees will also qualify for the bursary in their Master degree.

Eligibility

The bursary is available to any international student commencing for the first time at UOW in 2016, at an eligible course at the Sydney Business School, University of Wollongong’s Sydney CBD campus.

Students already enrolled at an Australian or international campus of UOW will not be eligible for the bursary.

The bursary is only for eligible courses and subjects undertaken at the Sydney CBD campus. If a student undertakes subjects offered at any other UOW campus, he or she will no longer be eligible for the bursary.*

The holder of the bursary must remain enrolled in the degree and proceed at the minimum rate of progress (full-time for an international student) in order to remain eligible for the bursary.

If the holder of the bursary defers the start of their course until 2017 or a later year, the bursary will not apply.

The bursary will not be awarded where the student is already in receipt of another UOW scholarship, sponsorship or bursary.

*Students studying a Master of Business double specialisation, where one of the specialisations is only offered from the Wollongong campus, are eligible for the bursary on the condition that a maximum of the four subjects in the second specialisation are undertaken at the Wollongong campus.

Enquiries and Applications

You do not have to make a separate application for a bursary, as it will be awarded automatically when you receive an offer for an eligible course and meet scholarship requirements. Applicants will receive notification of their bursary at the same time as their offer of admission into their course. Payment

For any student eligible for a Bursary, the full tuition waiver(s) will be processed on or following the census date of the last trimester(s) of the student’s course of studies.
