Women in MBA

Scholarships: partnering for diversity in leadership

Sydney Business School is committed to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and aims to support SDG 5: Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls by offering 50 Women in MBA Scholarships. A Master of Business Administration (MBA) has a significant impact on career pathways and is particularly powerful in enabling middle-managers to progress to executive and board room roles.

Partners support future female leaders by providing:

Financial Support - Sydney Business School will match the contribution of your employer dollar for dollar (up to 50 per cent). In order to qualify, the employer must contribute a minimum of 15 per cent of the total tuition cost. This means for example, that if your employer contributes 50%, you do not have to pay any tuition fees as Sydney Business School contributes the other 50%. Please note a Commonwealth Supported Place is not available when you receive a Women in MBA Scholarship.

Guidance & Advice - Sydney Business School will also offer a mentor outside the student’s organisation to help provide guidance and support from a third-party point of view.

Access to Events - as a recipient, you will be invited to academic and professional events where you will be able to network with other recipients and industry members.

Financial Support - the employer would support the recipient by contributing between 15-50 per cent towards the tuition cost of completing the Master of Business Administration. Please note a Commonwealth Supported Place is not available when you receive a Women in MBA Scholarship.

Guidance & Advice - the employer will pair recipients with an in house mentor to provide guidance, support and advice throughout her Master of Business Administration (MBA) program and help her to develop her post-MBA career pathway.

Employer Support - the employer will provide practical support to enable the recipient to attend class, undertake any additional study, attend exams and complete assignments.

Working full-time whilst studying and managing other commitments can be a daunting prospect and to be honest, it was the support provided via the WiMBA program that was the deciding factor for me to take on the challenge of an MBA. The skills, knowledge and practices learned will be invaluable throughout my career journey and I would highly recommend the program to any females seeking to extend and expand their strategic business, knowledge and leadership expertise.
