India Postgraduate Study Tour 2018
Master of Business Administration and Master of Business students will have the opportunity to participate in a study abroad tour in August 2018 as part of the elective subject, MGNT939: Global Business Practices (6 credit points).
Students will visit India to experience the economic development, observe the Indian business landscape and local culture, and understand the nature and scale of particular industries such as IT services development and business process outsourcing. Students will visit organisations from various industries and the Institute of Finance and International Management (IFIM) at Bangalore. Participants will undergo experiential learning in environments that are culturally, physically and institutionally diverse.
This study tour also involves a pre-departure workshop, post-return debriefing workshop, a mixture of in-country activities and assessment tasks.
The tour offers a personal development experience to help students become global citizens with an Asia-Pacific focus ̶ becoming cosmopolitan leaders. Meeting with business representatives, as well as students at IFIM, it is envisaged that students will be able to reflect on the culture, social norms and ethical business practices of India (in comparison to Australia), which will enhance their capacity to manage in a global business environment.
Travel dates: 12th – 19th August 2018
Estimated price: $2,000 (includes 4-star single accommodation and in-country arrangements), plus return flights from Sydney and visa. This price is subject to change and is to be used as a guide only.
